Cylinder Head Strip
& Rebuild Prices
Ducati cylinder heads
are the key to keeping the engines performance up to scratch and can be
improved. The valve shimming is considered too loose from the factory
with closing clearances in the manual being given up to 0.20mm is not
justifiable. Tightening everything up is the key to a smoother running
and less stuttery engine with prolonged service intervals and valve gear
life. 3 years of testing using a 748r and a 996 fitted with 748rs
camshafts has proven this.
If you wish to use
this service just send in your heads. They will be stripped, de
carbonised, cleaned with valves lapped back into there seats and
assembled with a higher spec of shimming. Please note changing to the
higher spec of shimming requires many shim changes . The cost will be
offset in the future servicing .
All 4v Ducati
£145 plus up to 16 shims each exchanged at
£6 each.
All 2v Ducati
£120 plus approx 8 shims each exchanged at
£6 each.
